CCFP Provides Clients With Nutritional Choices
On February 11, 2015, Crooked Creek Food Pantry (CCFP) began serving hungry families and persons in Pike Township and western Washington Township in Marion County, Indiana with its food distribution center in the Eskenazi Health Center Pecar Building, which is in the heart of a food desert. CCFP is a client choice food pantry that respects the personal dignity of each client. Eligible families and individuals can shop at CCFP twice a month for the items they need and prefer.
In addition to food, families and individuals can select from a variety of other necessities such as soap, toothpaste, toilet tissue, and diapers – when available. SNAP (formerly “food stamps”) cannot be used to purchase these items.Long-term goals of CCFP include providing nutritional information to help clients make healthier food choices and connecting them with educational opportunities and programs that may assist them in moving out of poverty cycle.
Individuals and Families can select from a wide variety of fruits, meats, vegetables, dairy, and available hygiene items.
